Feeling overwhelmed with the task before you? Do you feel like quitting before you even start? Have you ever felt that task before you was too hard to complete? Or maybe God placed an idea in your heart and you want to finish ‘quick’ to move on to the next thing? Or maybe just feel afraid at the task that’s laying before you?
I certainly have. I’ve found myself saying things like, ‘I can’t do this,’ ‘I’m not qualified,’ ‘I’m just overwhelmed.’ These thoughts seemed to grow stronger as we share our plans with people we love and respect, yet instead of encouraging us, they find ways to torn apart those same dreams. Then, it gets harder to even want to move in any direction. You feel paralyzed and think to yourself, ‘many people are doing ‘the same thing’ I want to do, is it even worth doing it.’
The dream that God had placed in our hearts slowly begins to be choked by other people’s opinions, yet God on the other side, was ready to empower us and lead us through.
I don’t know about you, but going through this was overwhelming and discouraging for me. It reminded me of Moses, when God asked him to go back to Pharaoh, or David when he confronted Goliath, or Gideon, when God greeted him with ‘mighty warrior, and he was threshing wheat in a winepress out fear from the Midianites.
It wasn’t until very recently that God began to speak into all this mixed emotions. I thought this perspective was so powerful, that I would like to share it with you. I hope its encouraging and brings you clarity about the task that God has laid in your heart.
These an entry from journal:
God’s calling is not a project for 2 moths or a year, but a lifetime. It’s a baby plant that needs tending, water, sunlight, love, and care. A plant, that if I’m patient and don’t give up, will bear much fruit. A plant that could become a refuge, a sacred place, to meet with the Lord.
Don’t despise small beginnings!
Proverbs 22:4 says, “Laying your life down in tender surrender, will bring life, prosperity, and honor as your reward.” Here are some lessons that I’ve learned:
God is our reward
True surrendered will bring life, prosperity, and blessing
Our callings required true surrendered because it is then that God reveals His heart for us and the people we are called to serve
When we surrender, God bestows upon us His authority to speak on His behalf
Our laying down is only the beginning of what He can do
Just remember, every time you write, teach a class, record a video, or anything that you may be doing… that Paul planted, Apollo watered, but it was the Lord who made it grow!
Don’t give up, the Lord has called you and will equipped you to bring His light into the darkness!
Led with Love,
Juanita
